Supplies ran low.
One time near this point they heard of hermits
With the skills for self proficiency
So a few men grouped together to search the valley below.
They packed enough to bare the cold
Said their farewells and headed to the fold of the land.
But at the gate stood a shadowed figure
Who pleaded they didn't pass.
"Its too warm theres gonna be a storm"
Said the man blocking their path
But heedless of what he said
They set off without care.
Winds rose and never fell
And rain turned to sleet
Moments before lightning graced the sky.
They searched for cover,
But none was to be fou
